Even though the guidebooks made no mention of it, Jim managed to find the Paris Plane museum. Did you know that he has a passing interest in aviation?

We gave Jim and Mary the "daily life" tour of Paris. (It was also the first working day Dick had spent on the Paris streets since his arrival. He either works or goes out-of-town on vacation).
We started in our backyard to show off our postage stamp park with one of the best fountains in Paris -- the four rivers:
Based upon our sewer tour, we were able to explain that unique Paris institution, the sculptured drinking fountain. Look carefully and you will see the descending column of water which never stops.
Although the guidebooks say these fountains were donated by an American benefactor, we know they are "free" because the Parisians will charge you a little later with the...
Yes...the automated toilets. (At least the cleanup is automated once you leave). For about the price of an American quarter you can experience the height of French automation as Jim did (and we won't tell you who joined him once, right in front of a cute French policewoman (that someone said "Howdy" to).
And, of course, we spent the required one hour in the Louvre (even after we explained that most first time visitors to Paris spend over an hour waiting to get into this museum.) Besides the three ladies of the Louvre (Winged Victory, Mona Lisa, and Venus DeMilo), Jim posed in front of this famous painting:
What else can we say: Here's #1, the grand prize winner:
The above narrowly defeated the second place winner (note the white hair and garments around the waist):
The travels ended at the North end of town in a Montrose-like area called Montmarte. Here's the dynamic duo in front of the Sacre Couer cathedral which shines out from almost every view in Paris:
After dinner in Dick and Pietrina's favorite French restaurant, the Masals retired to prepare for their 4:30 AM shuttle pickup (which never came). Then it was off to Charles DeGaule Airport to take the early Lufthansa flight. Once Jim saw the plane, he understood why he got such a good deal on the tickets.
That's it! The 2 1/2 day Paris visit! We hope they come back soon and stay a little longer now that they've seen that there's a bit to do. (It aint Dallas, but it tries).
