Carolyn and Paul arrived on time after a long flight from San Jose--Toronto--Paris. Their energy held through most of the day but the cold got to these California folks once the sun went down outside Notre Dame Cathedral.
Our first joint venture was a long walk through the Palais-Royale, then the Tulieres garden in front of the Louvre, then through the Place de Concord, and along the Seine where the picture above was taken. Paul's hat was all the talk of the fashion-obsessed Parisian crowd.
Then came the traditional walk up the Champs-Elysees including the stop inside the perfume store the size of a Wall Mart. Afterwards, Paul and Joe posed in front of an add for their favorite magazine -- just to show that some of the French think about more than cigarettes and fois gras:

Then we walked down the stairs. Here's a work in progress:
Then on to the Musee Rodin where we arrived too late to do much other than a quick walk through the garden. Think we'll have to go back again.
And then off to Notre Dame for a walk around our Gothic jewel as the sun fell. (Too dark to take pictures but we'll revisit this week)
