Zugspitze -- Atop Zugspitze we find mostly tourist and research infrastructure; but someone built a chapel here. This 1981 building was consecrated by the then archbishop of Munich, a guy named Joseph Ratzinger. He now has a much bigger place of worship in Rome, having clawed his way to the top of the Catholic Church. Here, as in many limestone mountains, we find many caves, perhaps as many as 300.
