Bergamo, Lomardy, Italy -- July 2006 -- This is Vincenzo Vela's 1855 tomb for Bergamo native Gaetano Donizetti who died in his early fifties with what we would today call Bipolar disorder. He composed over 75 operas including the bel canto masterpiece Lucia di Lammermoor. On either side are Flemish tapestries.
