...the iconic St. Zaccaria near St.
Mark's. St. Zaccaria's acquired this facade a few decades
before it was copied here in Dubrovnik (and eventually in many
other places throughout the region.) It's the the design of
Mauro Codussi who did several of Venice's church facades as
well as St. Mark Square's clock tower. These two facades built
at roughly the same time suggest how much more affluent Venice
was than its rival maritime republic Dubrovnik.
